@Home Network

@Home Network

One of the first cable Internet providers. @Home was founded in 1996 by the TCI, Comcast and Cox cable TV companies and William Randolph Hearst III, who served as its first CEO. At its pinnacle, it offered broadband service to more than four million subscribers in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In 1999, @Home acquired the Excite Web portal and changed its name to Excite@Home. After the dot-com bubble burst, the company declared Chapter 11 in 2001 and sold off all of its assets by 2002.
