Hari
Hari
(also Jambi), a river in Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra. The Hari is approximately 600 km long and drains an area of approximately 40,000 sq km. The river rises on the eastern slopes of the Barisan Mountains. It flows mainly through a marshy plain in eastern Sumatra and empties into the Berhala Strait. The river flows abundantly throughout the year; the mean flow rate is approximately 1,500 cu m per sec. The Hari is navigable by oceangoing vessels as far as the city of Telanaipura (Jambi).
