Ust’-Kamenogorsk Reservoir
a reservoir formed by the dam of the Ust’-Kamenogorsk Hydroelectric Power Plant on the upper course of the Irtysh River. The reservoir has an area of 37 sq km, a volume of 0.65 cu km, a length of 77 km, and a maximum width of 1.2 km; the average depth is 18 m, and the maximum is 45 m. The water level varies within a range of 5 m. The Ust’-Kamenogorsk Reservoir was formed in 1952 to aid the development of the regional power system, to improve water transport, and to increase the local water supply.
