Blunkett, DavidBlun‧kett, David /ˈblʌŋkət/ (1947–) a British politician in the Labour Party who became Home Secretary (=the government minister in charge of domestic matters relating to this country) in 2001. He was the first blind person to be a member of the Cabinet (=the committee containing the prime minister and the most senior ministers of the government) in the UK. |
