Etymology: < Yang-shao, the name of a village in the Henan province of China.
Archaeology.
Used attributively and absol. to designate a Neolithic Chinese culture (&c.5000–3000 b.c.), and its artefacts, evidence of which was first discovered in Yang-shao in 1921.
