1969 Honolulu Advertiser 16 June 1/2 That wasn't smog that shrouded much of Oahu yesterday. It was 'vog' (volcano-induced fog). That's what Art Pierson called the thin gray haze that reduced visibility at Honolulu Airport to less than five miles early yesterday afternoon.
