Etymology: Apparently < twat v.2 (although this is first attested later) + -ing suffix1.
British colloquial.
The action or an act of hitting or striking someone or something; esp. a thrashing, a beating-up. Cf. twat v.2In quot. 1963 with reference to a possible association with twat in the sense ‘female genitals’ (see twat n. 1a).
