Etymology: < tra- (in traditional adj.) + -po (in politician n.), with punning allusion to Tagalog trapo rag ( < Spanish trapo rag, cloth: see trap n.2).
Philippine English (derogatory).
A politician perceived as belonging to a conventional and corrupt ruling class.
