Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; partly modelled on a Latin lexical item. Etymons: touch v., me pron.1, not adv.
Etymology: < touch v. + me pron.1 + not adv., in senses A. 1 and A. 2 after post-classical Latin noli me tangere (see noli me tangere n.). With sense A. 4b and use as adjective compare earlier noli me tangere n. 2 and noli me tangere adj., respectively.
