In form to-comene reflecting the form of the inflected infinitive of come v. (compare discussion at tocome v.).
That which is to come; the future. In later use chiefly with the.Now chiefly in translations of or with reference to the French philosopher Jacques Derrida and his rendering of l'avenir (‘the future’) as l'à-venir (literally ‘the to come’).
