In later use chiefly in form thorough-stitch. Right through, through to the end; thoroughly, completely. Chiefly in to go through-stitch: to perform something thoroughly, carry an action out completely and effectually, go through with something (frequently with with). Obsolete.Very common in the 17th and 18th centuries, during which period the form with through- is approximately twice as frequent as that with thorough-.
