Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: technology n., -oid suffix; techno n., -oid suffix.
Etymology: < techn- (in technology n.) + -oid suffix. In later use in senses A. 2, B. 2 also partly < techno n. + -oid suffix.

1. Originally and chiefly North American. Technological in a marked or extreme way; technologically sophisticated or complex; characterized by expertise in or enthusiasm for technology.
