Etymology: < Sanskrit brāhma (also with Bengali pronunciation brahmo), follower of the Brahman (compare Brahma n.1 2), use as noun of brāhma relating to or concerned with the Brahman, derivative (with ablaut change) of brahman , neuter (see Brahma n.1).
