active obedience n. (a) Theology. Christ's perfect and complete deference to God in carrying out his laws and commands, as distinguished from his suffering and dying on the cross; (b) (voluntary) proactive compliance with the commands of an authority (opposed to passive obedience n. at passive adj. and n. Compounds).
