Any of a group of compounds obtained by a condensation reaction of ammonia with acetone and containing an amine (or imine) group and a ketone group.The principal members of the group are diacetonamine (4-amino-4-methyl-2-pentanone, C6H13NO: see di-acetonamine n. at diacetin n. Derivatives) and triacetonamine (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidone, C9H17NO). ΚΠ 1868 Times 26 Aug. 4/5 Amyl-ethyl-methyl acetonamine. 1927 Q. Jrnl. Indian Chem.
