Etymology: Shortened < Simeonite n.2Perhaps compare Sim , pet form of the male forename Simon (see Sim n.1).
Cambridge University slang. Now disused.
A follower or adherent of Charles Simeon (see Simeonite n.2 and adj.2) or a supporter of his theological doctrines; a Simeonite. Sometimes also more generally: an exceptionally religious, studious, or quiet student.
