1950 N.Z. Jrnl. Agric. July 79/2 Causing rapid decay, sclerotinia rot (Sclerotinia spp.) attacks many plants, including petunias, zinnias, stocks, and wallflowers. Dead plants are usually black, but are covered by a white growth.
1976 E. Scarrow N.Z. Veg. Gardening Guide 64 Fungal diseases include early and late blight sclerotinia (or white mould disease) and various other stem and leaf blights.
