(a) a group of workers responsible for a train on the road, as opposed to those involved in switching, shunting, etc., in the yards; (b) a group of workers engaged in the construction or maintenance of roads; (c) a group of workers which accompanies a band or musician on tour and is responsible for sound, lighting, and equipment (cf. roadie n.).
