Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: rheo- comb. form, -graph comb. form.
Etymology: < rheo- comb. form + -graph comb. form. In sense 1 after French rhéographe (1881 in the passage translated in quot. 1884). With sense 2 compare earlier rheogram n., rheography n.
1. An instrument for measuring variations in current or voltage. Cf. rheometer n. 1. Now disused.
