Etymology: < post-classical Latin retropannagium (frequently from 12th cent. in British sources; also as retropagnagium, retropasnagium, retrum pannagium) < classical Latin retrō retro- prefix + post-classical Latin pannagium pannage n.
Forage available in a forest after the pannage season. Also: the period following the pannage season; the right to pasture pigs during this period. See pannage n.Only in historical contexts as a translation of Latin retropannagium.
