Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: accord v., -er suffix1.
Etymology: < accord v. + -er suffix1. In sense 1 perhaps originally after Middle French accordeur mediator (1324 in Old French as acordour).
Now rare.
1. A person who reconciles people or things; a mediator. Also: a person who agrees with something.
