Either a cognate or a parallel is thus probably shown by Middle Low German rōtlösch , rōtlosch , rōtlos , rōtlesch , rōtlasch , Old High German rōtloski ; compare also Old High German loskeshūt , loschūt (compare hide n.¹), loskesfel (compare fell n.¹), loskīn (adjective).
