Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French reboiser.
Etymology: < French reboiser (1846), ultimately < re- re- prefix + bois wood (see bush n.1; compare French boiser to plant (land) with trees (1863; 1671 in sense ‘to cover (a structure) with wood’)). Compare slightly earlier reboisement n.
Forestry. Now rare.
transitive. To reforest (a place or region).
