Origin: Formed within English, by conversion. Etymon: rag doll n.
Etymology: < rag doll n., with allusion to the characteristic limpness of such toys.
Originally and chiefly North American.
1. intransitive. Originally: to relax one's body and limbs entirely. In later use: to tumble or be thrown in a violent, uncontrolled manner.
