1888 Med. Chron. 9 89 The following observations were made by me on one such body..which has since been registered by Messrs Levinstein and Co. as Pyrodine, and which as its active ingredient contains acetyl-phenyl-hydrazine—C₆H₅N₂H₂(C₂H₃O).

1931 Amer. Jrnl. Med. Sci. 182 597 Pyrodin (acetylphenylhydrazin) was brought to the attention of the medical profession in the last decade of the nineteenth century and its therapeutic effect as an antipyretic was rather highly recommended.

1954 E. H. Rodd Chem. Carbon Compounds III. a. 356 β-acetylphenylhydrazine, first introduced as an antiseptic, ‘pyrodine’, is as effective and less toxic.
