Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin quantulum.
Etymology: < classical Latin quantulum small amount, use as noun of neuter of quantulus how small < quantus how much (see quantum n.) +-ulus -ulus suffix.Compare the following example of classical Latin quantulumcumque ( < quantulum + -cumque : see Quicunque vult n.) in a work title:1695 W. Petty (title) Sir William Petty his Quantulumcunque concerning money to the Lord Marquess of Halyfax, anno 1682.
