Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin pyloricus.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin pyloricus, adjective (1672 in the passage translated in quot. 1689 at sense A.; compare also vena pylorica pyloric vein (1680)) < pylorus pylorus n. + classical Latin -icus -ic suffix. With use as noun compare post-classical Latin pylorica (1713 in the passage translated in quot. 1714 at sense B. 1; short for vena pylorica), use as noun of feminine of pyloricus.
