释义 | Puseyismn. Now chiefly historical. Frequently derogatory. The theological doctrines or principles associated with Dr E. B. Pusey and his associates in the Oxford Movement (Oxford Movement n.); adherence to these. See also tractarian n. 2.Pusey wrote seven of the ninety Tracts for the Times published at Oxford 1833–41, on which Tractarianism was based, and appended his initials to one (No. 18, 21 Dec. 1833, on Fasting). His academic and ecclesiastical position gave great weight to his support of the Oxford Movement, and specially associated his name with it.
