Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: psycho- comb. form, dramatic adj.
Etymology: < psycho- comb. form + dramatic adj. With sense 1 compare German psychodramatisch (1895 or earlier in this sense; 1979 or earlier in sense 2). In sense 2 after psychodrama n. (which is first attested slightly later in the sense corresponding to sense 1).
1. Relating to the dramatizing of psychological states or events; spec. relating to or of the nature of a psychodrama (psychodrama n. 2).
