Etymology: < programme n. + -atic suffix. Compare post-classical Latin programmaticus of or relating to public notices (a1540), French programmatique that sets out a programme (1780 in an apparently isolated attestation; subsequently from 1967). Compare slightly earlier programmatical adj.
