Origin: From a proper name, combined with an English element. Etymons: post- prefix, proper name Gutenberg.
Etymology: < post- prefix + the name of Johannes Gutenberg (c1400–68), German printer and the first person in the West to use movable type and a printing press.Gutenberg's original surname was Gensfleisch; he is apparently first called Gudenberg, a variant spelling of his surname, in a document of 1430.
Of or relating to the time since the advent of printing in the Western world; (now also) of or relating to a time in which the printed word is regarded as being in decline owing to the rise of electronic media.
