Etymology: < drawing n. + table n. With sense 1 compare later draw-table n. at draw- comb. form 1, and also Older Scots drawing burde , in the same sense (see quot. 1607 at drawing board n.). With sense 2 compare drawing board n.
1. A table having extra leaves stored under the table top, which slide along grooves and may be pulled out at either end to extend the surface area; = draw-leaf table n. at draw- comb. form 1. historical and rare in later use.
