释义

acciaccaturan.

Brit. /əˌtʃakəˈt(j)ʊərə/, U.S. /ɑˌtʃɑkəˈtʊrə/
Inflections: Plural acciaccaturas, acciaccature.
Forms: 1700s– acciaccatura, 1900s– acciacatura (nonstandard).
Origin: A borrowing from Italian. Etymon: Italian acciaccatura.
Etymology: < Italian acciaccatura (early 18th cent. or earlier) < acciaccare to crush, pound + -ura -ure suffix1. Compare appoggiatura n.
Music.
An ornament in keyboard music consisting of a non-harmonic note a tone or semitone below the main note, sounded simultaneously with it and immediately released; (also in 19th and 20th cent. music) = grace note n. 1, esp. one performed as quickly as possible before an essential note of a melody. Cf. appoggiatura n., mordent n.Geminiani in his musical examples illustrates arpeggiated chords, in which the non-harmonic notes are evidently not to be sounded simultaneously with the adjacent harmonic note. The simultaneous or nearly simultaneous acciaccatura was sometimes called the ‘short acciaccatura’. In quot. 1876, the ‘beat’ is apparently the auxiliary note and the ‘twitch’ its release, leaving the main note sounding.
