Etymology: < Anglo-Norman plener, plenier, pleiner, plainer, planier, etc., and Old French, Middle French plenier (French plénier ) full, absolute (c1100), consisting of the full number of members (in cort pleniere (c1165)) < post-classical Latin plenarius complete (see plenary adj. and n.); compare -ar suffix2. Compare post-classical Latin plenaris complete (c1170 in a British source; 1279 in a continental source), Old Occitan plenier (c1150; Occitan plenièr ), Catalan plener (1302 in plenerament ), Spanish †llenero (c1240), †plenero (c1225 in plenera myent ).
