Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin phosphoreticus.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin phosphoreticus (1769), apparently < post-classical Latin phosphoretum (although this is apparently first attested later: see phosphuret n.) + -icus -ic suffix.
