Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin perfectibilis.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin perfectibilis (from 13th cent. in British and continental sources) < classical Latin perfect- , past participial stem of perficere to accomplish (see perfect adj.) + -ibilis -ible suffix. Compare Italian perfettibile (a1588), French perfectible (1767). Compare perfectable adj.
Capable of being perfected or brought to perfection.
