1823 P. Nicholson New Pract. Builder 590 Periptere, a building encompassed with columns, which form a kind of aisle all round it.

2004 Internat. Centre Albanian Archaeol. Rev. 2002–3 11 Further clearance of the foundations in 2003 revealed..quadratic column bases... It is now clear that they belong to the peripter of the temple.

2005 P. Kemp tr. M. I. Mikeshin Mikhail Vorontsov (Electronic text) xii Orthodox churches in the form of a peripter were not scarce in those days.
