Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin pastillicāt-, pastillicāre.
Etymology: < classical Latin pastillicāt-, past participial stem (compare -ate suffix3) of pastillicāre, only recorded in present participle, pastillicans of globular shape < pastillus pastille n. + -icāre, verbal suffix.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
1. transitive. To shape into little balls.
