Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from French. Or (ii) a borrowing from Latin. Etymons: French participable; Latin participabilis.
Etymology: < Middle French, French participable (1311 in Old French) or its etymon post-classical Latin participabilis able to be shared (4th–5th cent.; from c1270 in British sources).
Now rare.
