Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish paso fino.
Etymology: < American Spanish paso fino < paso step (see pace n.1) + fino fine (see fine adj.).
A breed of horse developed in America from a number of Spanish breeds and renowned for its smooth and easy gait; a horse of this breed. More fully Paso Fino horse.
