Etymology: < post-classical Latin paratorium vestry (mid 8th cent.) < classical Latin parāt- , past participial stem of parāre to prepare (see pare v.1) + -ōrium -ory suffix1.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
A place of preparation; spec. a vestry or sacristy.
