Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly formed within English, by compounding. Partly a borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: paradox n., -o- connective, -graphical comb. form; Greek παραδοξογράϕος , -ical suffix.
Etymology: In sense 1 < paradox n. + -o- connective + -graphical comb. form. In sense 2 < medieval Greek παραδοξογράϕος writer on marvels (see paradoxographer n.) + -ical suffix.
