Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: out- prefix, glad v.
Etymology: < out- prefix + glad v. Middle Eng. Dict. s.v. ŏutglāden v. suggests an intransitive sense ‘to rejoice’, based on (a1382) Bible (Wycliffite, E.V.) : Isaiah (Bodl. 959) lxv. 19, but it is perhaps more likely that this should be interpreted as showing full out adv.
Obsolete. rare.
