Photography.
1. transitive. In dry collodion processes: to impregnate (a photographic plate) with organic matter (such as albumen, gelatin, gum arabic, etc.) contained in a weak solution which is applied to the sensitized plate, in order to keep open the pores and increase the sensitiveness and durability of the plate. Obsolete. rare.
