Origin: Apparently formed within English, by derivation. Etymon: -ated suffix.
Etymology: Apparently < opini- (in opinion n.) + -ated suffix. Compare later opiniate v. and slightly later opinated adj., opinionated adj. With the form compare also parallels listed at opinious adj.
1. Having a high or inflated opinion of; thinking much of. Obsolete.
