Any of a series of mycotoxins which are produced by various moulds of the genera Aspergillus and Penicillium and are derivatives of l-phenylalanine and a compound related to coumarin; esp. ochratoxin A, produced chiefly by A. ochraceus and having the empirical formula C₂₀H₁₈ClNO₆.
