Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element; modelled on a Danish lexical item. Etymons: Latin nostrāt- , nostrās , -ian suffix.
Etymology: < classical Latin nostrāt-, nostrās of our country ( < nostr- , noster our (see nostrum n.) + -ās , suffix forming adjectives) + -ian suffix, after Danish nostratisk (1924 in the passage translated in the quot. 1931). Compare later Nostratic adj.
