释义 | bankers' bookn. 1. Originally: an account book belonging to a moneylender or money changer (cf. banker n.2 1a, 1b). Later: an account book or record showing the transactions of a bank; (now chiefly Law) such a book or record used as evidence in a court of law. Usually in plural. Cf. bankbook n. 1.Under The Bankers' Books Evidence Act (1876) and various later acts and amendments, extracts from bankers' books (including ledgers, day books, cash books, and other account books, and later also including records kept in electronic form) are admissible as evidence in a court of law in Britain and (now also) various other Commonwealth countries.
