A basic monoclinic silicate, aluminate, and oxide of nickel, magnesium, iron, and aluminium (with nickel as the dominant cation) which belongs to the chlorite group and occurs as yellowish-green crystals near the Scotia talc mine in Mpumalanga province (formerly the eastern Transvaal), South Africa; (Ni,Mg,Fe,Al)₃(Si,Al)₂O₅(OH)₄.
