Etymology: < post-classical Latin naevosus marked with spots or blemishes (from c1000 in British sources), culpable, blameworthy (mid 12th cent. in a British source; < classical Latin naevus naevus n. + -ōsus -ose suffix1; compare naevose adj.) + -ity suffix. Compare post-classical Latin naevositas culpability (mid 12th cent. in a British source).
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
The state of being speckled or spotted.
